Christian Vazquez, who opened the season on the disabled list to complete his recovery from Tommy John elbow surgery, did not accompany Triple-A Pawtucket to Allentown, Pennsylvania, on Thursday night for the start of an eight-game road trip, according to multiple reports. Instead, he’s expected to rejoin the Red Sox on Friday and be activated before the opener of a four-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays at Fenway Park.
