Red Sox legend Dwight Evans is going to have one more shot at the Baseball Hall of Fame.
The Modern Era Committee listed Evans on the ballot for people it is considering for the vote on Dec. 8. Evans told Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe he’s excited over the second chance.
“I’m looking forward to whatever happens,” Evans said. “I’m still trying to take this all in. This is something I cherish.”
Evans is one of 10 players on the ballot for the Modern Era Committee. The other 9 people included are Steve Garvey, Tommy John, Don Mattingly, Thurman Munson, Dale Murphy, Dave Parker, Ted Simmons, Lou Whitaker, and Marvin Miller.
