For a team that didn’t hit many home runs during the regular season, the Red Sox bats sure weren’t quiet during their second elimination game against the Houston Astros.
With Boston down 2-1, Andrew Benintendi rocked Justin Verlander’s 87.9 mph slider out of the park to drive in two runs. Xander Bogaerts, who tied the score at 1-1 in the first with a homer of his own, also scored on the play. Prior to his home run, Bogaerts had been 0-14 in the postseason.
