The Red Sox didn’t start their game against the White Sox on time last night, instead spending almost an hour watching the ceremony honoring Pedro Martinez’ Hall of Fame induction and retiring his No. 45.
Minutes after the game started, the cheering stopped, the booing began and the sell-out crowd at Fenway Park began chanting, “Pe-dro! Pe-dro!”
Wade Miley and Justin Masterson, two pitchers who began the season in the Red Sox rotation, combined to allow nine runs, and center fielder Mookie Betts left the game after landing on his neck while leaping over the bullpen wall in right-center in a disastrous 9-4 loss to the White Sox.
