Vaughn Grissom expected to be placed on Red Sox’ injured list with hamstring injury

Grissom will likely begin June the same way he started the 2024 season: On the Red Sox’ injured list with a hamstring injury.

The infielder suffered a right hamstring strain while running to first base on a groundout in the third inning against the Detroit Tigers on Saturday. Grissom could be seen grimacing and rubbing the back of his leg after running out the play; he was removed from the game after his only at-bat of the day.

Manager Alex Cora told reporters postgame that Grissom will “100 percent” be placed on the 10-day IL.
