Trevor Story remains hopeful for the best after suffering a shoulder injury on Friday, but also knows what the possible severity of it could be.
The Red Sox shortstop was emotional when he spoke with reporters after being placed on the 10-day injured list on Saturday due to a left shoulder subluxation.
“It was a significant injury,” Story said. “It’s just frustrating. It’s not fun, man. Not fun getting injured. I’m gonna miss games. It was a kind of a freak thing. I’m going to miss a little time for sure.”
The injury occurred in the fourth inning of Friday’s Red Sox win over the Angels when Story dove to his right for a ground ball, but landed awkwardly on his shoulder.
