The Red Sox came into the game rocking a 2 game winning streak and hoping for more. The Sox had Joe Kelly on the mound who got completely rocked in his last start vs. Matt Moore for the Rays who is starting his climb back from Tommy John surgery. The Sox offense got going early which was needed since Joe Kelly had some hiccups along the way. The Sox bats were able to keep the game in their hands and then cruise on to victory. The highlight of the game was the play of rookie Travis Shaw. Shaw was a triple shy of the cycle when he came to the plate in the 8th inning.
