Time for Sox to go crazy?

Most years, the Red Sox decision-makers can take a nap in January, wake up in February and catch up on the month’s baseball news over a single cup of coffee.

Not this year.

The Sox started the free agency frenzy on Dec. 4, when they signed David Price to a $217 million contract. Price was the bottleneck of the starting pitching market. Once he signed, the rest fell into place.

As for the position players, it seems as if they’re still waiting on Chris Davis, a Scott Boras client who might very well remain a free agent on Valentine’s Day if that’s what it takes to get the right deal.
