Coming off their first series win of 2020, the Red Sox could not have looked worse against the Rays. The only competitive game in this week’s four-game set was the first one, when the offense got to Ryan Yarbrough early but the bullpen could not keep up and they lost the game 8-7.
In the second game, Martín Pérez had the cutter working and looked good in his 5 2⁄3 innings, where he struck out five and only giving up two runs. Unfortunately, Austin Brice came in after and gave up 5 runs on four hits while recording only two outs.
