The series against the Mets started off much like the Orioles series ended, with the Red Sox pitching digging themselves a deep hole early on. In game one, Josh Osich opened and gave up two runs, followed by Jeffery Springs, who gave up five, and just like that the Sox were too far behind. In game two, Matt Hall got the start and gave up two runs followed by Austin Brice, who gave up another three, and again the Red Sox were in a hole too deep for the bats to recover from.
