Welcome back to another episode of the Pre-Cap Podcast, where we look back at the series that was and ahead to the next series on the calendar. Today, we talk about this past weekend’s series against Seattle and ahead to the two-game set in New York against the Mets.
The Red Sox earned a split of the four-game set against the Mariners taking the second and fourth games in the series. On Thursday in the opener, Nick Pivetta was pretty good, allowing just one hit while walking three and striking out four. After him, however, he Red Sox bullpen had a tough night, as Adam Ottavino allowed a run to score and tie the game in the eighth inning and the Darwinzon Hernandez had a bit of a meltdown in the tenth, allowing four runs to score.
