So first off, let me just say I KNOW this is stating the obvious here. This isn’t an issue unique to the 2024 Boston Red Sox.
Let’s take a little trip in the way back machine to 2021. The Red Sox starting rotation consisted of Chris Sale* (the big asterisk pending health), Nathan Eovaldi, Eduardo Rodriguez, Nick Pivetta, Martin Perez and Tanner Houck, alongside Garrett Richards. Aside from that, only three other pitchers made one start and ONLY one start: Brad Peacock, Connor Seabold and Kutter Crawford.
2022, we lost Sale the whole season, and the rotation was Pivetta, Eovaldi, Crawford, Rich Hill, and Josh Winckowski.
