The Red Sox are off to an atrocious start at the plate! There have been questionable approaches, bad results, and infuriating situational hitting.
However, because of an offensive explosion in the Cardinals series (where the Sox scored 36 runs in three games including a double header in which St. Louis’ pitching was trashed), the overall numbers are obstructing the dreadful day-to-day. So I decided to take a gander at what things look like when you strip that red bird and red herring series out of the equation and just leave the raw numbers from the other 14 games.
