Just one of 13 MLB teams with an LGBT-themed event advertised on their website, the Sox took the evening as an opportunity to announce their sponsorship of the Gay Bowl, an LGBT flag football tournament organized by the National Gay Flag Football League. Fellow sponsors include the New England Patriots, the first NFL team to sponsor such a competition.
