BOSTON -- Being a Major League catcher is arguably the most demanding position in baseball. Just ask Red Sox rookie backstop Blake Swihart. It's taken a few months for the 23-year-old to adjust, but Swihart's made the most of his opportunity since being called up in May and begun to hit his stride.
That was never more evident than in the Red Sox's 7-2 win Friday night over the Royals. He went 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs and helped Henry Owens toss the best game of his young Major League career.
