That Eduardo Rodriguez has taken the Red Sox by storm is no secret by now. What’s also becoming clearer is that his first three starts are historic for any team — at any time. No other pitcher has gone at least six innings while allowing no more than one run or three hits in each of his first three big league games. With that performance has come a microscopic ERA of 0.44, the likes of which hasn’t been seen in more than a generation.
To wit, that 0.44 ERA is:
• The lowest by any pitcher through his first three major league starts since Pat Combs in 1989 for the Phillies (0.
