Locking eyes with Garrrett Whitlock from the mound, Noah Kahan subtly shook his head and exhaled.
He knew this opening pitch wasn’t making it to home plate.
Still, the Grammy-nominated folk musician gave the first pitch his best before the Red Sox’ Sunday matchup versus the Cubs at Fenway Park.
Alas, despite warming up in the bullpen, Kahan’s pitch fell (very) short. Still, fans erupted in cheers as the Vermont-native buried his face in his glove and trotted off the field as his hit song “Stick Season” blared from the speakers.
“I wish I could reverse time and do that again,” the Vermont native posted on his Instagram story following the throw.
