Steven Wright’s stuff all wrong

It’s been 251 days since Steven Wright’s knuckleball had the Dodgers fooled for nine innings of a shutout in Los Angeles.

Just two days after that, he was used as pinch runner, dove back into second base and injured his shoulder.

And still, something isn’t right with Wright.

In the worst start of his career, Wright was shelled at Fenway Park last night as the Red Sox fell to the Baltimore Orioles, 12-5, in a game that lasted a dreadfully long 3 hours, 46 minutes.

“It was terrible,” Wright said.

The O’s took Wright deep four times in less than two innings of work, jumping out to a 8-0 lead before he was yanked by manager John Farrell with one out in the second.
