Steven Wright to have knee surgery, miss rest of the season

The Red Sox announced today that Steven Wright will miss the rest of the season due to knee surgery, providing another hit to their starting pitching depth.

Wright will undergo a cartilage restoration procedure in his left knee on Monday. The procedure will be performed by Dr. Riley Williams III at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.

The team said that Wright is anticipated to be ready for the 2018 season.
