BOSTON -- Until recently, Steven Wright could walk around the corner from Fenway Park without getting recognized as a Boston Red Sox pitcher, to say nothing of an American League All-Star.
That didn't matter to the orphans in Nairobi. Last November, before Wright became an accidental mainstay in the Red Sox's starting rotation and the feel-good story for a playoff contender, he took a seven-day trip to Kenya's capital city. Invited by former Sox pitcher Justin Masterson, whose Fortress Foundations works with local churches to help improve conditions for children and families in one of the most impoverished places in the world, Wright toured homes, schools and orphanages.
