KANSAS CITY — It might’ve been the most exciting game the Red Sox have been a part of this season, but it came çrashing to an end with the wrong kind of excitement.
The Sox just can’t seem to avoid the drama.
David Ortiz didn’t like the strike zone during a seventh-inning at-bat, fumed about a pair of borderline pitches on the outside part of the plate that were called strikes by umpire Bruce Dreckman, but finished his at-bat with a single through the middle. He kept chirping upon reaching first base and was emphatically ejected by Dreckman some 90 feet away.
