The Red Sox came into the final game of the season at Fenway Park looking to sweep the Orioles. The Sox had rookie Henry Owens on the mound vs. Ubaldo Jimenez for the Orioles. The Sox offense got out to an early lead and that is all that Owens would need as he kept the O’s off the scoreboard in his almost 8 innings of work. In the whole series the Orioles weren’t able to scratch together a single run. It’s hard to win a series let alone a game when you get score at least one run.
The Sox scored first thing in the bottom of the 1st when Brock Holt was at 3rd base and was able to slide into the plate after a wild pitch from Jimenez.
