The Red Sox headed into Tropicana Field for the first series of the season. They had Wade Miley on the mound vs. Chris Archer for the Rays. Miley was still looking for his first win in a Sox uniform and tonight he would need to keep the Rays off the scoreboard in order to get it. Miley got the job done and then the bullpen brought it home for him.
The game was scoreless until the 3rd inning when the Sox were able to grab a single run. Pedroia hit into a fielder’s choice and because of a hard, clean slide by Betts an 2nd base, the Rays were unable to complete the double play and Hanigan scored from 3rd base.
