Sox begin Patriots' Day with Marathon tribute

BOSTON -- Under sunny skies on a crisp, clear day, the Red Sox celebrated Patriots' Day in grand fashion on Monday at Fenway Park.

The ceremonies began about 15 minutes prior to the 11:05 a.m. ET first pitch against the Blue Jays, with military members from Hanscom Air Force Base lining the warning track along the left-field wall to help support the American flag that was draped over the Green Monster. The New England End Zone Militia then presented the colors.

With Boston Marathon runners passing through Kenmore Square just a few hundred yards away, Marathon bombing survivor Jeff Bauman and actor Jake Gyllenhaal walked on the field to a standing ovation to throw out first pitches.
