‘Some’ Red Sox players have tested positive for the coronavirus

The first day of Red Sox Summer Camp wasn’t all smiles and sunshine.

Red Sox manager Ron Roenicke told reporters Friday that the team had “some positive coronavirus tests.”

Roenicke did not say which players tested positive for COVID-19, citing MLB rules. He also said that MLB rules prohibit him from saying how many players have tested positive.

Pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez did not report to camp and is awaiting the results of his test after he came in contact with someone who tested positive for coronavirus, Roenicke told reporters.
