Seeking AL East title, Sox put up 3-spot in 7th

NEW YORK -- Looking to clinch their third straight American League East title, the Red Sox got some good fortune in the top of the seventh inning of their game vs. the Yankees on Thursday night.

Trailing, 6-5, Jackie Bradley Jr. hit a leadoff upper-deck homer to right to knot things up. Christian Vazquez followed with a single, and after Mookie Betts struck out, Andrew Benintendi hit a double to put two runners in scoring position. The Yankees elected to intentionally walk J.D. Martinez in order to face Xander Bogaerts.
