This is the second year in a row of the MLB Spring Breakout, and the second year in a row of me being confused about what exactly the MLB Spring Breakout is. But, hey, I’m not going to complain about something that gives the Big Three a chance to introduce themselves to the wider world like they did last night.
All three of Roman Anthony, Marcelo Mayer, and Kristian Campbell homered as the Sox breakout team lost to the Rays prospects. Mayer and Campbell’s homers were back-to-back:
But it was Anthony who stole the show with a home run that could be legally classified as a deadly weapon:
And, yes, in case you couldn’t pick it up from that clip, there were Rays fans chanting “overrated” in the middle of that swing:
I could watch the Roman Anthony home run amidst the overrated chants on repeat.
