Report: Red Sox expected to activate Triston Casas Friday

Red Sox slugger Triston Casas is expected to be activated from the injured list on Friday, according to MassLive’s Chris Cotillo.

Casas has been out since April 21 with torn cartilage in his rib cage. He has spent the last few weeks on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Worcester.

He hit .270 during 10 rehab games with seven extra-base hits, per Alex Speier of The Boston Globe.

The 24-year-old first-baseman is hitting .244 with a .344 on-base percentage and an .857 OPS this season to go with 6 home runs and 10 RBI in 22 games.
