ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Los Angeles native and California State alum Noe Ramirez was called up to the Red Sox just in time to get a free trip to the West Coast.
And just in time to help the Red Sox relief corp against right-handed hitters.
The Sox have relied heavily upon their three trusted righties in Alexi Ogando, Junichi Tazawa and Koji Uehara and felt the need to add another right-hander to the mix. The right-handed Ramirez, who was drafted in the fourth round of Cal State in 2011, has a 2.15 ERA with 27 strikeouts and 13 walks in 29.
