The Red Sox are close to acquiring reliever Addison Reed from the Mets, according to multiple reports, including one by MLB.com's Mark Feinsand.
MLB Network Insider Ken Rosenthal confirmed that Reed is heading to Boston. New York will receive three prospects for Reed, who owns 19 saves and a 2.57 ERA this season, according to Rosenthal. Reed can a free agent after this season.
Neither club has confirmed the reports.
Right-handed reliever Gerson Bautista, ranked No. 28 among Boston's Top 30 prospects, is one of the players going to New York, according to MLB.
