Red Sox's Koji Uehara roughed up while experimenting with new pitch

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The way Koji Uehara sees it, it's never too late to learn a new pitch.

Uehara will turn 41 in less than three weeks, making him the third-youngest pitcher in the majors. But the Boston Red Sox reliever has decided now would be a good time to incorporate a cutter into his fastball-splitter repertoire.

Needless to say, the cutter needs some work.

Uehara threw primarily cutters Wednesday night and got knocked around by the Minnesota Twins.
