For the second time in as many starts, Kyle Kendrick allowed six earned runs in a Red Sox loss. Following Wednesday’s disappointing defeat at the hands of the Milwaukee Brewers, the club announced that they would be sending the veteran righty back to Triple-A Pawtucket in favor of left-handed reliever Robbie Ross Jr. After a stellar Spring Training in which many believed Kendrick to be a viable depth option, the Red Sox gave him two chances to prove that he belonged in the major leagues once again. It’s safe to say that he didn’t make the most of the opportunity.
