NEW YORK -- It wasn’t before a drama-filled ninth inning that saw Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz and manager John Farrell ejected as a bid to tie the game came up short, but Rick Porcello’s streak finally came to an end Friday night.
Boston loaded the bases with one out in the ninth against New York Yankees closer Andrew Miller, bringing Ortiz to the plate. When plate umpire Ron Kulpa called a 3-1 pitch for a questionable strike, Farrell was out of the dugout and ejected quickly.
