The Red Sox will try to beat the Yankees for the first time in 13(!) games when they square off this afternoon at 1:07 p.m. at Fenway Park.
The Yankees, winners of 10 games in a row overall, have now beaten the Sox 12 times in a row for the third time in their collective histories. Wonderful. They’ve also won five in a row at Fenway, which, look: Tom Werner is sorry. Don’t worry about it.
At least the pitching matchup is genuinely interesting today on both sides. Rookie Tanner Houck makes his second start, only to be matched by the electric young Deivi García, who has been tearing up the league with ease.
