The sad-sack Red Sox continue their season tonight against the Nationals at 7:30 p.m. at Fenway Park.
Yesterday was awful for many reasons, the Sox’s perpetual bumbling among them. They lost 10-2 and, in one of many more important details, Chadwick Boseman, who played Jackie Robinson in 42, died on the real Jackie Robinson Day. I’d promise you today was going to be better for the Red Sox, but I can’t. Also, Chris Mazza is starting.
For the Nationals, it’s Sox system legend Aníbal Sánchez, who deserves credit for sticking around this long.
