Red Sox turn to Joe Kelly against Rays, plus lineup

The Red Sox look to Joe Kelly, he of the 5.94 ERA, to guide them to their third consecutive victory this afternoon in Game 2 of their series against the Rays this afternoon.

With the team all but conceding that it has no shot at making a run at the wildcard -- it is eight games out, with 10 teams ahead of it -- the ballclub plans to integrate rookies Brian Johnson and Henry Owens into the rotation before much longer. Kelly appears to be the most obvious weak link, but manager John Farrell asserted that Kelly's performance this afternoon will not have a bearing on how the rotation is configured in the near future.
