The Red Sox have publicly denied making first baseman Triston Casas available in trade talks this offseason.
Reports from MLB insiders over the last few months tell a different story.
Regardless, Casas doesn’t sound too worried about the swirling rumors.
Speaking with reporters during the team’s “Fenway Fest” on Saturday, the 24-year-old (who turns 25 on Jan. 15) said he’s received assurances from Boston’s brass that they want to keep him on the Red Sox.
“They’ve told me that none of the rumors are true. Maybe all that other stuff is all clickbait,” Casas said (via MassLive’s Chris Cotillo).
