The Red Sox traded infielder/outfielder Garin Cecchini today to the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for cash considerations.
Cecchini appeared in just two games at the big league level last year, striking out three times in four at-bats. Overall, he hit .229 (8-for-35) in 13 games with the Red Sox. He was designated for assignment by the team on Dec. 4.
Cecchini, 24, appeared in 117 games for Pawtucket last year, splitting time in left field (65 games), first base (23 games) and third base (19 games). He hit .213 with 14 doubles, seven homers and 28 RBI.
