FORT MYERS, Fla. — No one would complain about fewer cuts to commercial on NESN. Not the fans, anyway, and apparently, not those making money off the ads either.
Red Sox chairman Tom Werner on Friday said he’s on board with the idea of fewer commercial breaks in baseball.
“I can just speak for myself,” Werner said, “I think that is a good idea.”
Whether a reduction in breaks would actually add up to a reduction in the number of ads — rather than a redistribution of ads to a longer set of commercial breaks — isn’t clear.
