It took some time thanks to the College World Series, but the Red Sox have finally agreed to terms with their first pick in the 2015 MLB Draft. Center fielder Andrew Benintendi, the seventh-overall selection, has agreed to a full-slot bonus of $3,590,400 with Boston according to MLB's Jim Callis.
Benintendi was the SEC player of the year as well as Baseball America's College Player of the Year, thanks to his breakout sophomore season. The one concern with him is the track record -- that's how he fell to seventh despite his fantastic season -- but it's not so much a concern as something to note: the expectation is that this is who he is going forward, and that he's a high-quality prospect.
