It appears Triston Casas’s time in Boston won’t be coming to an end anytime soon, despite rumors of the young slugger being on the trade block.
Following the Red Sox’ signing of free-agent starting pitcher Walker Buehler, it’s far less likely Boston’s front office attempts a trade involving Casas, according to MassLive’s Chris Cotillo.
Casas’s name initially came up as a potential trade piece for a starting pitcher. Multiple Seattle Mariners pitchers were rumored targets for Boston, although the Mariners reportedly shot down a trade involving Casas. However, now that Boston has finalized its rotation for 2025, trading Casas would be largely unnecessary.
