The Red Sox appear to be on the verge of adding a frontline starter to the team’s rotation.
According to multiple sources, including Boston Globe Red Sox reporter Julian McWilliams and ESPN MLB insider Jeff Passan, the Red Sox are “finalizing” a deal with the White Sox to acquire left-handed pitcher Garrett Crochet.
As for what the Red Sox are set to trade to Chicago, McWilliams noted that Boston is set to send catcher prospect Kyle Teel as part of the deal. Passan added that the White Sox “will be receiving four prospects from the Boston Red Sox, all of whom are highly regarded.
