Hanley Ramirez is back.
After missing seven consecutive games with a bruised and sore left foot, Ramirez will return to the Red Sox' lineup, batting fifth and playing left field in the opener of a three-game series against the Cleveland Indians.
"There still is a little bit of discomfort there, but he wants to play, he wants to be in the lineup, he wants to contribute," interim manager Torey Lovullo said. "Based on all the reports from the medical team, he's not going to put himself in any more harm's way (by playing), and all systems are go.
