Red Sox president: Dombrowski, Farrell handled Apple Watch incident 'swiftly and appropriately'

It was on the front page of Wednesday’s New York Times, a newspaper with subscribers in 195 different countries, so the story of the Red Sox going to great lengths to steal their opponents signs is not going away quietly.

While manager John Farrell hardly addressed the issue publicly on Tuesday, president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski spent almost 10 minutes downplaying the incident and confidently shrugging it off as just part of the game.

But the commissioner of baseball, Rob Manfred, said he’s determined to make sure any punishment he hands out will be a deterrent for teams to illegally use electronic devices in the dugout during games.
