Red Sox position players lag far behind in AL All-Star voting

In the latest numbers released today for American League All-Star voting, the Red Sox do not have a position player close to earning a start in the annual Mid-summer Classic on July 11 in Miami.

The highest Red Sox players in voting are Dustin Pedroia and Xander Bogaerts, both of whom rate fourth at their position.

Pedroia has 429,194 votes at second base, but he's miles behind Houston's Jose Altuve, who has already pulled in nearly 2.2 million votes.

Bogaerts, meanwhile, has an equally steep hill to climb at shortstop, where he has garnered 750,708 votes and is far behind Houston's Carlos Correa, who has just under 1.
