The Red Sox have not yet decided if they’ll place Joe Kelly in the bullpen.
One day after Kelly allowed five runs and was pulled in the fourth inning, manager John Farrell said it’s uncertain if Kelly will make his next scheduled start.
“The primary goal is we've got to get Joe to deliver the ball more consistently,” Farrell said. “For a guy that's that athletic, you'd think his athleticism would allow him to repeat a delivery to command a baseball better.”
Kelly’s high-90s heat and sharp slider have been too hittable this season, when he’s allowed 81 hits and 31 walks in 74.
