If last night was a preview of their upcoming Division Series, the Red Sox might be heading toward a short October. And that might not be the bad news.
The Red Sox still have to win their division, and that’s not a done deal just yet.
Overpowered from the very beginning, the Red Sox were pummeled 12-2 in the opener of their four-game series against the Astros. It was the Sox’ third loss in four days, and there are only three regular-season games left to play, all against this mighty Houston lineup.
The Red Sox need to find a way to win at least one of them or else spend the weekend scoreboard watching in hopes of backing into a division title.
