Two months after elbow surgery, Red Sox reliever Robby Scott could begin playing catch as early as this weekend.
The top returning left-hander out of the bullpen underwent arthroscopy and debridement surgery immediately after the playoffs, but he remains on track for a normal offseason workload and expects to be 100 percent for spring training.
“That’s what we expected right from the get-go is that there wasn’t going to be much of a delay,” Scott said. “If anything we were going to start (throwing) a little bit earlier just to get myself a little bit more time.
