MIAMI — Brian Johnson continued his team’s impressive season-opening streak as he became the fifth straight Red Sox starting pitcher to allow one run or no runs during their outings.
Johnson pitched six innings of one-run ball as the Red Sox beat the Miami Marlins, 7-3.
“It’s what we expected,” manager Alex Cora said of his rotation. “We know how special they can be. We know the first three guys, but the next two, they were outstanding the last two games. The game plan, all the information we have gathering and executing, it’s good to see.
