Pitchers often pay for their mistakes, and Henry Owens has been paying dearly for his.
Owens took another one on the chin last night, when a few misfires turned into a whole lot of damage for the Tampa Bay Rays in a 5-2 victory against the Red Sox at Fenway Park.
Owens allowed five runs (four earned) in 71⁄3 innings and now has allowed at least five runs in three of his nine starts.
“We made some pitches to get out of some situations, but with two strikes, I was a little overzealous at times,” Owens said.
